Memo no. S.R (PCA) No. 4/2019-SJ (PCA)/89 Dated 24thJuly, 2025

The Court of the Special Judge, Prevention of Corruption Act, Mizoram, Aizawl, has pronounced the sentence in SR (PCA) No. 4/2019 arising out of the M/s Mizo Carbon Products subsidy fraud case. 

CONVICTION

In its judgment, the Court convicted four accused persons, namely Mr. Ravi Gulgulia (A-1), Mr. Vimal Kishore (A-4), Mr. PramodBharech @ Agarwal (A-10), and Mr. SandeepAgarwal (A-17), for the offences punishable under Section 120-B read with Sections 420 and 471 of the Indian Penal Code. 

The Court sentenced each of the convicted accused to:

  • Two (2) years' rigorous imprisonment and a fine of ₹1,00,000 for the offence under Section 120-B read with Section 420 IPC; 
  • Six (6) months' rigorous imprisonment and a fine of ₹50,000 for the offence under Section 120-B read with Section 471 IPC; 
The sentences shall run concurrently, and the period already spent in judicial custody shall be set off against the sentence in accordance with law.
